「Gridiron Heroes」と題するデトロイトライオンズのファイトソングは、1930年代末にさかのぼります。 チームがデトロイトの一部になったとき、オーナーの G.A. リチャーズは、ファイト ソングを作ることを要求しました。 ウェイン州立大学のバンド・ディレクターであり、ライオンズのエンターテインメント・ディレクターでもあったグラハム・T・オーバーガードが、「Gridiron Heroes-The Victory Song of the Detroit Lions」の歌詞と音楽を書き下ろした。
